Devabit is a Ukrainian IT company that collaborates with clients worldwide. Currently, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team and work on a project for our client — a revolutionary platform transforming the pharmacy experience through digital innovation.

The project provides a patient-centric experience enabling patients to pay co-payments, schedule deliveries/curbside pickup, and answer medical-related questions online in seconds from any device.

The client provides pharmacies with a white-labeled, online payments platform that integrates with pharmacy management systems and allows for faster onboarding and payments process to enhance workflow and revenue.

Our customer is the HIPAA and PCI compliant online payments and patient onboarding platform for pharmacies. Platform is hosted on AWS, utilizing ECS, with a strong commitment to cloud security and data integrity.

Role Overview:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be integral in maintaining and improving our secure, scalable infrastructure on AWS. One of your primary focuses will be driving the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate and streamline our cloud environment. Additionally, you will take ownership of developing a comprehensive monitoring and alerting system to elevate system observability and reliability, building on existing tools and expanding our capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve AWS infrastructure with a strong emphasis on compliance with PCI and HIPAA standards.
• Lead efforts to implement and standardize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across our AWS environment.
• Manage vulnerability management processes, working closely with security teams to identify, address, and mitigate potential risks.
• Develop and enhance monitoring and alerting systems to improve system observability and support cloud security.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support secure and seamless deployment.
• Support quarterly PCI reviews and assist the compliance team in maintaining PCI documentation and processes.
• Proactively monitor and manage cloud resources to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
• Support incident management processes, ensuring timely issue resolution and contributing to the prevention of future incidents.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering within a regulated or compliance-heavy industry.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with AWS services, especially ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch, and familiarity with PCI and HIPAA compliance.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Travis CI).
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, IAM policies, secrets management, and network security.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements and willingness to support quarterly PCI reviews and documentation.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus for handling occasional automation tasks and custom workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures on AWS.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes
• Administrator, CompTIA Security+).
